General casino guides
The broad explainers: how games, bonuses and payments work, written for someone reading about it for the first time.
Casino Guru · Content Writer · Brno
Nela writes Casino Guru's general guides and the responsible gambling content behind them: clear explanations of how gambling works, and of the signs that it has stopped being a game. She studied psychology at Masaryk University and has written about risk for six years.

What she writes
Most of her work sits on the same scale: from how a game works, to checking your own play, to where to turn when it stops being fun.

The broad explainers: how games, bonuses and payments work, written for someone reading about it for the first time.
Amber
Self-tests and checklists that help readers look honestly at their own play, explained without jargon or judgement.
Red
Warning signs, limits, self-exclusion and where to find help, written for someone who might need it today.
Know the signs
The idea behind her first book, Know Your Risk: most people can place their own play on a scale, once someone shows them the scale.
You set a budget and a time limit before you start, and you keep to them. Losing is the cost of the evening, not a problem to fix.
You play longer than planned, chase losses or feel restless when you try to cut down. A good moment for firmer limits or a break.
You borrow to gamble, hide it from people close to you or feel you cannot stop. Talk to a support service in your country: help is free and confidential.
This scale is for information, not a diagnosis.
Books
On gambling risk, on writing about health and wellbeing, and a small book about yoga, writing and quiet. All three are written in English.

Outside work
Most mornings Nela unrolls a yoga mat on the floor of her flat in Brno, and most evenings she opens a notebook. She writes short fiction and poetry in Czech and English, usually in one of the city's cafés. Her book The Quiet Page is about both habits.
